In 1983 The Academy of Creative Hair Design was established with the goal of teaching students to become well-qualified, successful hair designers.

The Academy of Creative Hair Design is pleased with their dynamic methodology in developing a curriculum that performs more than just training you to pass the State Board Exams. The location is at 125 North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and they have been in operation for the past 24 years. There is an area for reception in the facility, providing an area for clients to wait. There is also a large senior classroom. The shampooing area and Junior - Senior practical work area are located on the large open clinic floor to your right. The large theory room fits 50 people easily. Students have access to a microwave and a refrigerator for their convenience at lunch. The area of the lunch room contains the laundry facility. Students spend the first three hundred hours of their program in a private freshman classroom. It deals with theory, practice, and a shampoo section.
Cosmetology
The goal of the Cosmetology Course is to prepare students in all the required subjects so that they can take and pass the State of Pennsylvania Exam. The program offered is a standard option of 1250 hours requiring a full-time study commitment of between 10 and 15 months. The student takes exams for connected cognitive as well as manipulative skills. You will also learn about new methods and trends in salon employment. You will earn a diploma upon completion. Upon payment of all fees and successful completion of the State Board Exam, the State of Pennsylvania will grant you a Cosmetology license. As soon as all of the requirements are done, you will be qualified to go into several different arenas in the job market of Cosmetology, like Salon Stylist, Hair Colorist, Permanent Wave Technician, Facial Makeup Artist, Nail Technician, or even Beauty Industry Representative.
Nail Esthetics
The goal of the Manicurist (Nail Technician) Program is to comprehensively train every student in the area of natural and artificial nail care. A requirement of 200 hours is needed for the Manicurist class that takes nearly 1 1/2 months (7 weeks of full time days) or 2 1/2 months (10 weeks of full times nights) to finish.
After you pay the fees and pass the State Board Test, you will receive a Pennsylvania Manicuring License.
