Berdan Institute
An accredited school situated in Wayne, New Jersey, Berdan Institute specializes in career training curricula for health care and medical technology. The institute for health professionals was created in 1976 solely as a school for medical secretaries. It was expanded in 1979 with the addition of the dental assisting curriculum. Berdan had received full accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of the Career College Association by 1980, and launched a medical assistant curriculum. Berdan offers a large number of courses in many careers programs, which specialize in health care, today.
There is a massage therapy choice along with Berdan's other programs. Your employment after graduation is assured because you will have completed 750 hours of instruction in the classroom, lab, and clinic and will be fully prepared with the skill and technical knowledge that employers are seeking. Massage techniques, human sciences, bodywork modalities, professional standards, and laboratory and clinical practices are a few of the various disciplines in which the students are tested. Students will also learn aspects of massage careers, including balancing a professional attitude with nurturing and understanding.
For the students' convenience, day and evening programs are offered. This thirty-week course runs Monday through Friday in six modules of 125 hours each. Though composed of the identical six 125-hour modules, the evening courses are conducted four and a half (4½) hours each evening, Monday through Friday, for 42 weeks.
Once a student has completed the course, they will be given a certificate of massage therapy. To sit for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Body Works, students can gain the understanding and skills necessary by completing this program. Graduates who qualify find employment at a wide variety of establishments. These include health clinics, salons, massage therapy offices, spas, resorts, physical therapy offices, private medical practices, chiropractic care offices, pain management clinics, and wellness centers. Once they have completed the course, graduates are prepared to begin a career in massage therapy.
