Professional Massage Therapy Program 

 

The Professional Massage Therapy Program can prepare students for a bodywork career in seven months. Licensing is done by national certification, state, and municipal governments and the program exceeds the requirements of all of these. Not only does the Professional Massage Therapy Program teach you the skills you need to practice as a massage therapist, but it will also teach you good business practices so that you are qualified in any massage therapy market. 

 

The Professional Massage Therapy Program teaches students light energy work, structural bodywork modalities, Eastern and Western theory and technique, how to treat certain pain and dysfunction, and a holistic approach to health and healing. 

 

Students are taught how to heal by touch. Since they are training health care practitioners, they also include CPR and First Aid training and certification, and Anatomy & Physiology, and Pathology in the Professional Massage Therapy Program curriculum. Not only are students who attend the UCMT Family of Schools (FOS) prepared to become proficient bodyworkers, they are also trained to be successful in the marketplace, either as an employee, sole practitioner, or an independent contractor. 

 

Students learn a number of techniques. Students enrolled in the Professional Massage Therapy Program complete a comprehensive Professional Development course. By taking the course, you will learn the holistic approaches to all phases of the massage therapy business from job interviewing and writing a resume, to good business practices and business advertising. You will graduate with hands-on experience from the Clinical Internship training in a clinic environment.
