Lesley University

In 1909, Lesley University was created to train certified kindergarten instructors. The initial site of the school was in Edith Lesley Wolford's private residence in Cambridge, renamed Lesley College in 1945, and later known as Lesley University in 2000. Currently online programs are offered in 23 states by Lesley University. President Joseph B. Moore's office is currently located on the spot where the very first class was held, in Edith Lesley's living room.

Lesley University is a private institution with 10,000 students and 176 staff members. On-campus and online students can take advantage of several student services offered. During their time at Lesley there are a wide variety of services available to assist students such as library services, tutoring, academic advising, career advising, and financial aid counseling. For online students, 24/7 online tech support is readily available. On campus students have several clubs and leisure activities they can participate in. NCAA division III athletic teams that play in basketball, volleyball, and cross country, are also a part of Lesley.

There are online degree offerings as well as traditional campus classes offered by Lesley. Possibly completed in under one year, the Bachelor's degree in Business Management requires 42 credits. One hundred twenty credits are required for the degree, but it is possible to transfer as many as 88 credits from another institution. This curriculum gets students ready to become business managers for public as well as private organizations. The coursework is based on employment and activities, allowing students to have the chance to use their skills in actual situations they will deal with when they have a job.

Lesley University uses its solid foundation in education to provide a vast mix of master's degrees in the educational field. Among the degrees that one can obtain are: math education, educational technology, instructional technology, science education, ecological teaching and learning, educational studies with an emphasis in adult learning, and advanced professional certification in autism disorders.
