Minnesota School of Cosmetology
Being a professional cosmetologist means more than being a hairstylist at the Minnesota School of Cosmetology. As such, the cosmetology program does not merely focus on hairstyling methods; it teaches students the more and more complex artistic abilities that modern cosmetologists are expected to possess.
Students are taught to perform a number of beauty services covering all aspects of the beauty industry, by participating in classes on theory, practical classes, and training on the clinical floor. Shampooing, hair cutting, hair styling, make-up application, temporary and permanent hair waving, hair straightening, hair coloring, bleaching and tinting, manicuring, facials, and various skin and scalp treatments are among the services that they learn, in addition to salon management and interpersonal communication skills.
Put together with individual students in mind, the cosmetology curriculum imparts skills and knowledge based on the latest trends in the cosmetology field.
Belonging to the Globe Education Network (The Network), Minnesota School of Cosmetology works together with many career colleges. The Network includes Globe University, Minnesota School of Business, Utah Career College, Institute of Production and Recording and the Duluth Business University, and supports education and administration at member career colleges.
Offering operational support for administrators of member institutions, the Network also offers academic support and manages a number of shared resources that benefit the students. Consortium agreements that are in place and that have been approved by the accrediting bodies of the member schools enable students to take classes at schools within the Network and have the credits applied directly to degree programs at any member school. Each college grants degrees on an individual basis.
The Globe Education Network name will show up, like in the Blackboard website, when Minnesota School of Cosmetology's students access shared resources. But the member colleges deliver the classes.
