In as little as seven months, students can become successful practicing bodyworkers through the preparation provided by the Professional Massage Therapy Program. The standards that have been set by national certification are well exceeded, as are many state and municipal government licensing standards. The Professional Massage Therapy Curriculum trains students in the art and science of massage therapy, and also imparts good business practices which get students ready to succeed in the industry.

The Professional Massage Therapy Program teaches students light energy work in addition to structural bodywork modalities, Eastern and Western theory and technique, as well as treatment methods for certain pain and dysfunction, and a holistic approach to health and healing.

Students are taught how to heal using touch. Since NSMT is training health care practitioners, CPR and First Aid training and certification are included in the Professional Massage Therapy Program curriculum, as well as Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology. In addition to preparing students to be proficient in bodywork, the UCMT Family of Schools (FOS) trains students for success in the marketplace, as an employee, sole practitioner, or independent contractor.

Students discover a vast array of skills. As part of the Professional Massage Therapy Program curriculum, a student finishes an all-inclusive Professional Development program. In this course, students will learn about techniques of enrollment, beginning and operating a massage therapy business, presentation, advertising, résumé writing, job interviewing skills, and the inclusion of sound business practices with a holistic approach to health care. Students get involved with the Clinical Internship, which affords them on-the-job training to get ready for working professionally.
