Automotive Technology: Associate's Degree
The Automotive Technology Associate's Degree program offers both day and evening classes to allow completion in as little as 18 months. In order to obtain more appropriate employment, it is necessary to attend these courses. Available for your use will be the latest in learning technology.

- Manual and Automatic Transmissions
- Front Wheel Drive Transaxles
- Braking Systems
- Steering and Suspension Systems
- Front End Alignment
- Engine Fuel, Emission, and Ignition Management Systems
- Computerized Diagnostic Testing
- Drivability Diagnosis and Repair
- Natural Gas and Other Alternative Fuels Training
Upon graduation, you will be able to apply one year's worth of credit toward an ASE certification.
Automotive Collision Repair Technology: Associate's Degree
Flexible day and evening classes let you earn an associate's degree in as little as 18 months. From basic to advanced, including repair and collision refinishing, all areas of auto body technology are included.
Theory and practice cover the following:
- How to repair and replace sheet metal; how to repair body damage, frames, and unibodies; how to install glass; and techniques in refinishing paint.
- Shop management techniques and the automotive business are also taught to the participants.
- They are Rhode Island's only NATEF Master certified Post-Secondary Institution. After you complete the program, you will have earned a year's credit to be applied to ASE certification.
Marine Technology: Associate's Degree
This program features an in-depth study of the marine technical field along with the application of current trends. Recent changes in environmental protection legislation has resulted in an increased demand for highly trained technicians in the field. Students are taught about design, theory of operation and service methods, and additional automotive systems. Detailed education on engine, transmission, electrical, and fuel and emissions systems are made accessible. The coursework includes ignition systems, computerized engine control, and fuel injection systems. All equipment and electronic engines used in the programs are state-of-the-art. Marine functions require service and install systems. Every teaching staff member has Volvo, Mercury Marine, and ABYC factory certifications. For those students that qualify, Volvo Penta Marine training is available through the Marine Technology Department at New England. Once they finish the Marine Technology courses, pupils may be eligible for certification as Volva Penta technicians too.
Scholarships for qualified candidates are made possible by the American Boat Builders and Repairs Association (ABBRA), the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA), and the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association (RIMTA).
Automotive Service Management Technology: Bachelor's Degree
Flexible for students who work during the day or night. Students strengthen their verbal skills, mixing business, management, and technical skills.
