Sarasota School of Massage Therapy

The goal of the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy is to train students to become adept, dependable, and sensitive massage therapists and to offer the chance for students to grow personally.

Massage Therapy Program

Upon completion of the program, the student will:

• obtain knowledge and master the practical skills of a massage therapist
• have the chance to work with the general public
• obtain skills in writing and maintaining client/patient records
• develop the business skills, ethics, and attitudes required to be successful as a bodyworker
• obtain certification in CPR and Basic First Aid
• be eligible and prepared for the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
• be eligible for Florida Licensure as a Massage Therapist

Placement Assistance

The school offers continuing placement assistance to graduates and, while it maintains a high placement rate, employment is not guaranteed.

Students can receive assistance in identifying career directions from the Placement Director and other members of the administrative team, all of whom are practicing, licensed massage therapists.

As the school's graduates are known for their excellence, many outfits (both local and out-of-state) looking to hire massage therapists check with SSMT.

A current job listing is kept up-to-date by the school, and can be accessed at any time by licensed SSMT graduates.
