Purpose
Offering both undergraduate and graduate degree programs that are focused on the truth that God is the source of all wisdom, SWU is a comprehensive university. Through the integration of personal faith, intellectual pursuits, and practical living, its purpose is to create an atmosphere in which members of the university community work together toward wholeness. They attain to serve all students equally and educate them to excel in their personal and career oriented goals.
Enrollment Demographics
Most of their 632 undergraduate students are residents of South Carolina or North Carolina. Students come from 35 other American states, as well as 8 countries overseas. There are minority students that make up 20 perfect of the student population. Students are fifty-six percent female, and forty-four percent men.
Athletics
Not only do they participate in the NCCAA, the SWU Warriors also compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference. There are baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, and cross-country teams for men. Basketball, cross country, softball, volleyball, as well as soccer are the sports teams for women.
Campus Life
The campus offers "dorm-style" residence halls, including two-bedroom suites with private baths, as well as town-house apartments, and 80% of all first-year students take advantage of these living arrangements. Cable television, a phone line for personal use, and access to the Internet are included in all of the residence rooms. An expert residence activity coordinator teamed with paraprofessional resident aides are responsible for the management of every residence hall. Lecture series, concerts, plays, ministry opportunities, service projects, weekly student-sponsored social events, and intramural sports are some of the campus life programs.
