Tri-State Business Institute

The mission of Tri-State Business Institute is to supply students with the practical skills they will need to embark on a fulfilling career in their particular field. To achieve this mission, the institute provides students with updated post secondary technical knowledge and skills.

A wide array of accounting and business experiences are provided in the business administration/accounting program. Knowledge is provided to students about the basics of accounting, including seven special topics. Now that accounting has become a largely computerized field, the use of accounting software will be included in the courses. It is imperative that students understand the basics of business, so they are taught this as part of the base curriculum. Students who take advantage of the opportunity can receive complete training in all components of Microsoft Office, which can increase their employability in a number of jobs.

Professional Administrative Assistant

In the modern office, one must have basic skills in the following: computer operating systems, word processing, spreadsheet creation, database applications, and graphics/presentation software. Becoming proficient in Microsoft Office applications, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access at TSBI, a student will be able to take the Microsoft Office Certification Exam which will be helpful when seeking a job.

In addition to having the chance to learn more about software and computers, your other classes will include:

To enhance your educational experience, general communication and social science courses are included in the mix. The average salary for an Accountant 1 is just over $35,000 according to the 2003 Salary Survey.

Based on financial need or academic achievement, students have the ability to earn financial aid in the form of loans, grants, and scholarships. Financial aid is available at TSBI for students who need monetary help to complete their instruction. Those who need financial aid should submit an application at the same time as they apply for admission.

Students who are interested in information regarding financial assistance via any of the programs should obtain this information as well as any forms from TSBI. The financial aid officer provides a considerable amount of assistance to students both in completing the various forms and identifying the proper agencies.
