Vanderbilt University

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, there is a private research-based university known as Vanderbilt University. His fortune made in the shipping and rail industries, Cornelius Vanderbilt founded Vanderbilt in 1873. Hoping that the school could stimulate positive change in the South following the Civil War, Vanderbilt bestowed a one million-dollar gift upon the university. At first Vanderbilt University was part of the United Methodist Church, but they went their separate ways in 1914 after a number of disagreements.

With a total student population of 12,000, Vanderbilt University is made up of four undergraduate schools and six graduate schools. Near downtown Nashville, there are three hundred and thirty acres of land that the campus is located on. There are 70 current undergraduate majors available at the university in four schools and colleges which are the Arts and Science College, Engineering School, Peabody Education and Human Development College, and Blair Music School. The university includes the following six graduate and professional schools: the Divinity School, Graduate School, Law School, School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and Owen Graduate School of Management.

As part of its school of nursing offerings, an online Master of Science in Nursing degree is currently offered by Vanderbilt. It is possible for pupils to complete their degree completely via the Internet without ever having to attend on campus. This degree is created for recent health care employees to finish their degree without being required to stop working at their current job and abandon other duties. The school of nursing was founded in 1909.

This degree gets nurses and other health care employees ready to be health system supervisors that concentrate on taking care of nursing and health care work. Students working toward the health systems management degree will be taught how to implement standards of quality patient care, manage and evaluate employee work teams, maintain fiscal accountability, collaborate across disciplines and health care settings, take part in research, and a great deal more.
