In 16 to 18 months, you can become a veterinary technician. 
 
They love students and animals at the Vet Tech Institute and their goal is to help students be successful in school and when they graduate. 
 
Veterinary technicians assist in the care of animals of all types and sizes, performing tasks like surgery assistance and monitoring of ill or hurt animals. 
 
Vet techs do several tasks while being supervised by a vet. Some of these tasks are: 
 
  • Collecting and analyzing test specimens 
  • Taking X-rays to find problems 
  • Administering anesthesia 
  • Helping with surgical procedures 
  • Administering injections and running IVs 
Upon completion of the program, you will be able to handle and restrain animal patients, perform office procedures, anesthesia, sterilization, radiology, pharmacology, and other procedures. 
 
In the final semester, participating in an extern position provides first-hand experience. 
 
As a graduate veterinary technician, you will be entitled to lifetime benefits from the Career Services Department.
